Nordstrom Anniversary sale goodness! If you’re like me, you love this time of year because MAC always does something special for Nordstrom and I always look forward to the new palettes or sets.

I like the direction MAC is going in with these Look in a Box sets, don’t you, I think it is close in line with some I saw in the airport for the duty free buys? Summer Fragrance Alert: Clean "Outdoor Shower Fresh"

Have you ever heard of the fragrance line "Clean?" If not you are missing out. I am one of those girls who liked to smell fresh and that is what their whole perfume line is about. They have fragrances like Simply Soap, Warm Cotton, and Fresh Laundry (which is perfect to spray on your sheets right before you have company or after you make your bed it's so inviting and gives you a warm and tingly feeling). I am enamored with this line as you can probably tell! 

They have a new limited edition scent, Outdoor Shower Fresh, perfect for the summer months it's not heavy at all, it's light, fresh, airy and just....and I don't want to sound cliche, but CLEAN!  It's Fresh, green, dewy, and exhilarating. This floral scent (but not punch-you-in-the-face-hello-my -name-is-floral) is inspired by the experience of showering al fresco, secluded by nature. Hello tarazan ladies!

Don't be such a WALL FLOWER!

Okay shaving gods what on earth took so long!!!!! I having been waiting for years to see if any one of the shaving giants would finally have figured this out but they didn't go figure. They make little cartridge and razor holders that attach to shower walls but no-one thought to make a shaving cream that would do the same thing??? Tsk Tsk you guys should be ashamed; but ladies this little product is a shaving cream and razor juggling miracle! Not to mention it's more like a lotion and moisturizes skin too! What more can you ask for?

Hellooooooo Beach Babes!!!! Feel like you are at the beach anytime and anywhere with Bobbi's newest summer collection.  According to Bobbi, “Nothing says summer to me like pretty, glowing skin and shimmering lids.”  And I for one agree and this collection is definitely one worth trying.

Bobbi Brown’s Beach Club includes:

A new Shimmer Brick ($38) I love these shimmering bricks I own 2 and now 3 this one is so perfect use as individual eyeshadows or blend for a golden shimmer I even sweep some across my decolletage when wearing a summery dress. Or you can use as a highlighter or as a blush! (Beach, a mix of warm bronzes)

Long-Wearing Metallic Cream Shadow ($22) Moonstone Green – pale, shimmering green, Opal Pearl – an opalescent pink, Surf - a pale, shimmering blue, Pink Oyster – a shimmering pink Long-Wearing Cream Shadow ($22), Shore – a pale nude. The new Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment! I am addicted to the Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment it lives in my purse, so I’m happy to see that Fresh has introduced a new shade. Even though I love Rose, I’m looking forward to something with more color to it. You know what I mean? It’s the same super moisturizing, indestructible lip balm we all know and love only with a berry plum tint to it. Are you in? This is going in my shopping cart now…

5 Cool New Ways to Use the Beauty Stuff You’ve Already Got

If you’ve got any of the following, please raise your hand: flatiron, lip gloss, hair elastic, face mask, blow-dryer. OK, so that’s pretty much everybody (you can put your hands down now!). Here’s how to put more pennies in that piggy bank instead of being tempted to buy another product: Make the stuff you already have pull double-duty!

Here are three of our favorites tricks for repurposing a product:

1. If you’ve got…lip gloss:

Pretty your pout and use it to prime your lids to make eyeshadow last longer.

2. If you’ve got a…hair elastic:

Make a super-stylish pony, or keep your makeup bag organized—group your glosses, pencils or brushes together. No more rummaging around in the black hole (otherwise known as your purse).

3. If you’ve got a…flatiron:

You usually straighten with it, but make curls by clamping a skinny flatiron around a small section of hair, rotate once and glide down to ends. Continue in small sections all over until you’ve got a head of pretty, beachy waves!

Estee Lauder Acquires Smashbox!

Estée Lauder announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Smashbox Beauty Cosmetics. The acquisition is expected to close in July 2010, subject to certain conditions, including regulatory approval. While terms of the deal were not disclosed, the Company said that the transaction is expected to be accretive to earnings in fiscal year 2011, before transaction and integration costs. 

The Smashbox brand, with its unique equity positioning, is a strategic complement to The Estée Lauder Companies’ portfolio of leading prestige cosmetic brands. Smashbox’s significant presence in assisted open-sell environments and specialty distribution channels will expand The Estée Lauder Companies’ product offerings and reach new and younger consumers in these high-growth prestige channels.  Additionally, The Estée Lauder Companies will leverage its extensive international experience as it seeks to grow the brand and engage Smashbox’s expertise in digital and social media to advance its current capabilities, an important and growing competency for the Company.

I'm excited to see how this pans out. It's a fantastic coup for EL and I wonder what (if any) changes are ahead for this LA studio-style makeup brand.

Marc Jacobs Just Got Bigger!

Marc Jacobs is back at it again with the release of his popular summer Splash fragrances – this year in Apple, Pomegranate and Biscotti. If you’re looking for a lighter summer fragrance, you should start your search with these. Inspired by the decadence of a patisserie shop (a French bakery!), these scents are indulgent and enticing — but incredibly fresh and light. Making it the perfect summer fragrance!

I’m currently in love with the Apple, it’s such an interesting scent. It’s actually a more masculine scent in my opinion – it’s very energetic and not overly fruity or floral. The notes include apple zest, lemon and grapefruit combined with rosemary, jasmine, magnolia, coriander and cardamom.

Stepping into Summer: 5 Must Trys

Sorry beauty gals for the delay in blogging but we are back and excited!! We have so many products to share!  Here are 5 things I have added to my beauty arsenal and have been using religiously! These Are PERFECT for the upcoming summer months! 

1.  I got to try the European Waxing Center and for trying them out I got a free Brazilian yeah me! They use hard wax which I love, spares you from using the words OUCH as much. Also, I don't have to worry so much about making an appointment with my esthetician as they are way more flexible.  After my waxing I decided to try their Ingrown Hair Serum cleverly called "Dump the Bump" Gotta love the marketing group but this product promises to prevent ingrown hairs, bumps and breakout well ladies....IT WORKS! Grab a bottle of this ASAP before you plan to hit the beach or take up space pool side this is a summer must have. Check them out online and see if one is located near you! P.S. the serum contains Vitaberry Tropical Blend of Antioxidants, and Vitamin E, Lavender Oil, Tea Tree Oil. 


2. Origin's Brighter By Nature Peel: It's almost summer I wanted something that would deliver the benefits of a scrub without the process of scrubbing. My absolute favorite  scent from this collection is "Girl's Night!" Slip into your heels and get ready to dance all night in this fun, fruity scent. The scent contains notes of Electric with pink peony and waterlily. 


P.S. It's great for all occassions not just those with the gals!

4. Bobbi Brown Beach Line: I stock up on this each and every summer!!!! Who doesn't want to smell like the beach all the time! I love it! It's such a great summer scent. I love the oil especially the oil with SPF! Definitely a must try if you are not already hooked!

Healthy Glowing Skin From Benefit's One Hot Minute

Benefit’s One Hot Minute is a life savor. After some late nights at home in Louisiana, the Superbowl, followed by Mardi Gras then Valentine's Day, I was sallow and just plain sad and dried out looking. The Hurricanes, food and late nights took its toll on my body and when it was time to go back to reality I needed some help looking healthy. Benefit One Hot Minute stepped up to the challenge. 

The rosy gold powder was just what I needed to help combat dried out look I was suffering from. In literally a minute, I watched my face transform before my eyes, it like gave me a face-lift and woke up my face.  And even though I am not partying as hard I still find myself still reaching for the One Hot Minute every morning. Sometimes you forget just how much you love certain products! Thanks Benefit! LOVES IT!!!!!! 

Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Stains

Okay so I think you guys already know how obsessed I am with Tarte’s gel cheek stains and now I have something new to love from the brand. Tarte finally introduced their new LipSurgence Natural Lip Stains and they are all the rage with me right now. They have permanently moved into my makeup bag and I’m not sharing these with anyone, except you guys . These new stains come in 6 super cute just in time for spring shades:

• Moody – deep berry
• Amused – bright pink
• Lust – red
• Enchanted – rose
• Charmed – light pink
• Joy – peach

I picked up Amused, Enchanted and Lust but I think another trip to Sephora is in order for Joy and Moody. I'm just so addicted to all these stains I cannot get enough of them stains on my cheeks, lips where else! Ok I must calm down. 

When I first tried these new lip stains, I was surprised by how moisturizing they are. I did not expect them to feel so good on my lips, they didn’t feel like a lip stain at all and that makes me love them even more. Instead, they feel more like a tinted lip balm that you can build layers of color with. Don’t be alarmed by the color you see in the tube though, I was weary of trying Amused at first but it looks super great on!  It goes on lightly and like I said, you can build on it if you want a more intense stain on your lips.

Tarte’s lip stains also give your lips a glossy finish. I don’t know about you but when I wear a stain, I usually add a lip balm or a clear/sheer gloss on top for a little shine because sometimes your lips have a tendency to look dried out. I love that I can eliminate this step and keep the color on my lips for longer and the color doesn’t disappear once the moisture does.  With that said, the color doesn’t last all day…but it lasts long enough that I can get away with less touch ups, just keep it in your purse gals! 

When you consider the wear and consider the formula, which for me is a plus in comparison to some sticky, bitter tasting formulas, I’m completely OK with the wear given how moisturizing these stains are. 8 Ways to Achieve Flawless Looking Skin: No Lie!

You see that girl with no make-up on or she has just a tinted moisturizer and we are like I want her skin is it genetics, partly but most are daily habits we need to pick up to have the same flawless look!!!!!! 

1. Practicing yoga two to three times a week. "Unlike my intense cardio workout, which leaves my face red and sweaty, yoga gives my skin a dewy, post-sex glow." I agree after only 2 sessions of Hot yoga my friends and I can all attest to a certain glow that left our skin looking positively fresh and fabulous! 

2. When I was in high school my friend's mom used to say Always always remove your make-up before you go to bed if not it will add 40 years to your face! Okay so perhaps that was extreme but it made me listen. An effective way to prevent zits and premature aging is to remove makeup before bed. No matter how tired you are keep your pores clear using a face wash or makeup remover wipe before passing out. Besides not doing so will leave your pillow looking YU-CKY! 

3. This is what I am starting to do more of and taking supplements and things like hot yoga will cause you to DRINK MORE WATER!!!!! One of the biggest common denominators among flawless-skinned women is drinking two to three liters of water a day. I Never leave home without my red water bottle! 


4. YOUR DIET!!!! You are what you eat! A fiber-rich diet keeps skin looking radiant. Eat fruits and veggies with every meal that is my motto!!! Not only will your skin thank you but the rest of your body will too!!!!! 


5. This one is a no brainer you should always always be wearing SPF protection on your face!!!!! UVA rays you be aging and UVB rays you be Burning!!!!! Whether it's mixed in with your moisturizer, foundation, or applied separately SPF is essential in maintaing a wrinkle free face!!!! 

6. This one is the hardest one!!!!! To prevent redness and scarring, take a hands-off approach abiding by two no-nos; no picking, no rubbing. If a blemish occurs, rather than picking it -- which can leave a scar -- uses a formula with salicylic acid to dry out the problem, Like Origin's Spot Remover . After washing up, dab, not rub, your face dry with a towel.

7. Use a Mask at least once a week!!!! Depending on the situation break-out dryness etc.. I sometimes can use up to 2 different masks on my face at one time. What I Love Origin's Out of Trouble mask and Jurlique's Intense Recovery Mask. 

8. This last one to me very important in order to turn over cells brush away the dead ones so the new ones can shine you must EXFOLIATE!!!!!!! When skin looks blah, exfoliation is necessary to boost radiance. I use mines 2-3 times a week. My favorite: Juice Beauty's Green Apple Peel in full strength I use this one once a week in conjunction with another exfoliator. I like Juice Beauty's because it contains  A powerful hydroxy-acid complex of certified organic apple, lemon, grape juices, raw cane sugar and white willow bark exfoliate for visibly improved skin tone and texture.
