I know this is a not the glamourous expensive body wash you thought I would blog about today, but for the recessionistas this is the real deal! Olay's Ribbon Body Wash is VERY moisturizing and makes your skin feel soft and supple. I love it, in the winter time I use it sometimes 3 times a day. Especially since I started going to the gym again (we'll see how long this dedication will last) and I take a shower there, and then one at home, all this showering is NOT good for the skin, but Olay's Lotion Ribbons really puts the moisture back in. It's a simple yet fabulous product that delivers on it's promises.
Follow this Body Wash up with Cetaphil mixed with drops from Neutrogena Sesame Oil and you've got yourself a winning combination to fight the Cold Weather Months!
LOVES IT!!!!!

Cold Weather Staples: Nars Face Primer SPF 20
Winter is here. There’s just no getting around it anymore. Temperatures will begin to sink to single digits and the sidewalks will soon be covered with salt and mounds of brown ice. I remember the Boston cold, it was the kind of cold that makes you feel like your face is going to fall off piece by piece. And I loathed having to take the "T", as you cross the steps back up to the surface you are hit with an ice cold brick like wind across your face, burrrrr. Days like this require a special beauty routine.
Here’s how I attempt to keep my skin protected and my face glowing.
Moisturize, Moisturize Moisturize! Days like these are just not the time to be skimping on the face moisturizer. You know how you apply layer upon layer of Lip Treatment/Balm, do the same with your face. Give your skin a healthy layer of lotion and really let it sink into your skin before doing your makeup. I also use a face primer after I apply my moisturizer because I like to give my skin a little extra protection. I take the words “wind” and “advisory” very seriously when I hear them used together.
I’ve really been liking NARS Primer with SPF for winter days. I first received this primer as a free gift from Sephora, you know the one you get when you reach 100 points. I tried it, loved it and traded it in for a larger one. It really provides an extra later of moisture and protection. Not to mention it helps to create a perfect canvas for natural-looking and long-lasting foundation application. Best part is the SPF, a combo of sunny sun and bright white snow is horrible and can cause severe sunburn. So yes ladies even in the winter don't skimp on the SPF!

Cold Weather Staples
Another thing I use almost religiously especially as it gets colder is Neutrogena Sugar Scrub Body Exfoliator. As with our faces we need to scrub our skin as well and especially as it gets colder this becomes key! This scrub not only does the job of removing our super scaly dry skin but it also moisturizes, seriously you can feel the moisture! It makes your skin feels so good.
Sugar Scrub Body Exfoliator's natural sugar crystals gently smooth away dry, dull surface skin cells to reveal a fresh glow while botanical oil pampers skin, leaving it beautifully soft and smooth. Caution: Use only a bit at a time if you put more in your wet hands it may slip out onto your shower floor and you will try effortlessly to scoop it up; yes you guessed it this has happened to me.
Another great thing about this product is the scent! So yummy awakening and energizing! The fresh citrus scent invigorates your senses to help start the day off right! This is a must-have to any Girl's Cold Weather Kit!
LOVES IT!!

Cold Weather Staples Continues: L'OCCITANE Hand Cream
Are you washing your hans and using Sanitizer as much as I am?? I know I am a germ-a-phobe and what comes from all this washing is dry cracked hands. YUCK! So Unsightly. So in order to control dry tight feeling, and keep my hands feeling soft and smooth this little tube (which I found for $10.00 at Nordstroms) lives in my purse! L'Occitane Hand Cream with Shea Butter. I love the Lavender scent but all of them smell great and WORK!!!This hand cream is like none you have ever tried! It's a a super-smoothing--and best-selling--synergy of 20% Shea Butter, honey and sweet almond extract, blended with the light and alluring aromas of jasmine and ylang-ylang essences. Texturally pleasing balm glides on and absorbs to help heal and protect dry or dehydrated skin. Anti-oxidizing vitamin E helps nourish. Invites even the most hard-working hands to a fresh beginning.
I cannot live without this I love slathering it on and then sticking my hands back into my gloves!
LOVES IT!!!

Cold Weather Staples
As the Cold weather descends upon us we must put away the "Fru-fru" lotions and stuff that won't hold up to the winter months furry. All this week we will feature Cold Weather products that really work which you can add to your beauty arsenal and put a stop to itchy dry skin.
First on deck: Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream; I used Cetaphil for as long as I can remember it was recommended to me by my Dermatologist as it's the best thing for dry skin and eczema. But a couple of years ago I stopped using it, not sure why exactly. While in D.C. I got re-introduced to it again durning the the Presidential Inauguration. It was truly cold I mean freezing but one thing I can honestly say is that my skin never felt dry or itchy! I thought, "Why did I get rid of this."
Cetaphil is a no frills cream it does what is says it will: this non greasy formula alleviates dry skin. Period. I use it twice a day in the AM and in the PM after my bath. LOVES IT!
Also in my Cold Weather Kit is Neutrogena Sesame Body Oil. This is my favorite oil, it's light not greasy, won't rub off on your clothes and a little goes a long way. I actually mix in my hand a large dollop of Cetaphil and about 5 drops of the Sesame Body Oil and what a great moisturizing duo; dry skin is never and issue with that mixture! Neutrogena Body Oil is a delicately light sesame formula that instantly vanishes into the skin, sealing in moisture. It's lightweight, absorbs quickly I LOVES It!
