2009 Favorite Beauty Products – Skin & Hair Care

Our favorite beauty products of the year continues with our favorites in skincare, nails and haircare. Are some of our picks the same as yours? Keep reading…

Without a doubt Elizabeth Arden Prevage Moisturizer has been one of my favorite moisturizer of the year. It’s definitely pricey but the texture makes it last forever and it tames your skin like nothing else.

This year I got to know Talika Lash Conditioning Cleanser and our lashes my grateful for the introduction. This product not only removes mascara better than most makeup removers but also conditions lashes at the same time.

Sampar Skin Quenching Mist is as good as it gets if you’re obsessed with refreshing your skin with mists like we are. Not only does it have a devine rose scent to it but you can spray on as much as you’d like, no greasy residue left on your skin with this. Perfect for long plane trips.

Suki Lemongrass Cleanser is another goodie from 2008 that we brought with us into 2009. You can use it as an extremely effective exfoliator or let it foam up for gentler way to clean your skin. Plus the lemongrass will definitely perk you up.

Garnier’s Nutri-Pure Detoxifying Wet Cleansing Towelettes are our top pick for cleansing wipes. These refreshing oil-free wipes have a clean fruity scent and do not dry out your skin if you’re having a “lazy” day and is the only thing you use to wash your face at night. Not that we do that or anything…

Thank you MAC for Style Black and the MAC Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask. It makes our skin so soft after just one use and there is something incredibly therapeutic about slathering sooty black ash all over your skin and rinsing it off with a hint of heat. Love! So glad I stocked up too!

Four months under our belt of using NARS Cleansing Oil and it’s still rocking our world. And the best part is the bottle isn’t even a quarter of the way empty!

When my hair needs refreshing, Ojon Revitalizing Mist takes care of my hair with just a few spritzes. This product is also a leave in conditioner.  I hope Sephora brings this back as a Beauty Insider deluxe sample, the small bottles are perfect for travel.

Frederic Fekkai’s Advanced Full Blown Volume Shampoo shampoo gets us excited, ala old school Herbal Essence commercials-style. The smell is refreshing with a hint of lime and gives LIFE to fine hair. The effect is really noticeable when blow drying with a big round brush.

If we could bathe in MoroccanOil products, we totally would… it conditions hair like nothing we have ever used. It is safe to say that MoroccanOil Treatment has completely rocked our world. It conditions, protects against heat, adds shine and tames flyaways. What more could we ask for?

Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo isn’t exactly new but it is new to us this year. This product is the only dry shampoo around. I keep re-purchasing. Why is that? It is gentle and does not irritate my scalp like other dry shampoos do.

2009 Favorite Beauty Finds: Lips & Eyes

Happy New Years Beauty Babes! Hope you brought the year in with fabulous sparkling eyes and bold lips! I know I did. I am thinking 2010 will be great and beauty wise unforgettable! I can't wait to see what new things the fashion Gods dream of next. But lets take a nod to the fabulousness that was 2009! I mean lets face it beauty junkies it was a great year, metallic eyes, luscious rich lips, the Stila Barbie Collection, fun innovative mascara and more mineral make-up than we ever dreamed!  Take a look of the things from 2009 you should carry over to 2010!

Stila really shined with its Smudge Pots this year, especially the Stila Kitten Smudge Pot. It’s shimmery champagne goodness is the perfect eye base and brightener.

NARS Brumes Eyeshadow duo is meant for blue-eyed girls! It consists of the most smooth matte charcoal and shimmery blue slate colors, and makes for an amazing smokey eye that really pops.

The Style Black collection was a highlight for us this year – the Greasepaint Stick especially. It’s a great base, a great liner and it performs! No smudging – unless you want it to! –  and it even has a built-in sharpener, which is perfect when you want to get a finer tip to line.

For as many mascaras as we try, Cover Girl Lash Blast seems to always have a home in our makeup bag. It delivers consistent results and plumps up our lashes effortlessly.

Remember we talked about the Luscious-ness that is Bobbi Brown Rich Color Gloss! I absolutely went Go-Go-Ga-GA over and racked all but one of the those delectable little tubes!

We talked at length about two moisturizing lip glosses Fresh Lip Treatments and Lavanila all natural glosses. You definitely want to carry these two over to 2010 to fit off chipped, dry cracked lips!

Next in the Lip Department was Covergirl Outlast Lip Stain: I cannot wait to see how they reinvent this product in 2010, but what they have now is perfect! Last all day and lets the looks have this stained not overly done look!

And lets not forget the wonderful world that is M.A.C. The introduction of their Dazzleglass simply Dazzled us!

What were you favorite Lip and Eye products of 2009!
