Beyoncé to Launch ‘Heat’ Fragrance in NYC Feb. 2

Beyoncé is launching her first frangrance, Heat, with a big bash in NYC’s Union Square from 6pm-midnight, are you going??? Heat sounds like it’s going to be a very warm, sweet but sensual fragrance. Open notes are magnolia, neroli and red vanilla orchid balanced with a touch of blush peach. It develops into almond macaroon, honeysuckle nectar and crème de musk and closes with sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber linger. I’m all over the amber notes at the end!

The packaging isn't half bad either it's okay for a first fragrance; but I am not nut about it.

To celebrate the debut, Beyoncé will light up the sky with red lights and fog effects. I’ve got to say – there’s definitely something to launching a fragrance called Heat in the dead of winter. Wouldn’t you say? So again whose going?? Kinda wish I was!

Benefit Sugarbomb – The Perfect (Sugar Rush) Flush for Cheeks

Meet Benefit Sugarbomb, (don't you just LOVE the name) the newest addition to Benefit’s famed Box o’ Powder lineup. This little box of goodness contains four beautiful shades of powder all in one box: peach, soft plum, shimmering pink and rose. When swirled together, the effect is simply gorgeous. Or you can opt to use them separately. We’re quite smitten with her at Product Girl headquarters. I mean, doesn’t it look good enough to eat?!

Sugarbomb is a beautiful shade of pink with a bit of peach, a beautiful somewhat sheer highlighter.  I’d say it’s like Benefit Coralista’s, but with a little more shimmer, and a tad more pink. I’ve used this every which way I can think of in the last few weeks and I’m in love. It looks beautiful on its own or dusted over creme blushes. It’s not quite as pigmented as Coralista, which in my opinion is the most pigmented of the boxed powder bunch. It’s just right – more reminiscent of other Benefit face powders. Have I also mentioned that it smells amazing? It’s sweet – kind of like sugar! yummy!

Have you had a chance to see this or try this? If you like Benefit’s boxed powders, we think you’ll really love this one! Sugarbomb retails for $28 and is available at Benefit boutiques, online and at Sephora.

Kim Kardashian’s Sexy Eye-Makeup Trick

If you’re looking for a way to spice up your smoky eye makeup, steal this move that Kim Kardashian has perfected: On your bottom lid, try a darker color than the one on your top lid.

In this recent snap, she’s got a shimmery gold on her upper lids (with a smoky brown in her creases) and a darker steel gray along the bottom. The combination actually opens her eyes up as opposed to closing them in, as a circle of dark color would tend to do. Just something to try the next time you’re going for a smoky eye and want to change things up a bit.

Other color combos that would work? Navy on the bottom and silver on top, plum on the bottom and lavender on top, and brown on the bottom and shimmery beige on top. If you can’t decide which combo you’re into, Smashbox’s Proof Cream Eye Palette has 10 shadow shades for $32! And if the idea of trying to re-create Kardashian’s smoldering eye makeup seems stressful (or downright impossible),Too Faced Smoky Eye Palette comes with handy how-to instructions. —Beth Shapouri

Mabelline NY Eye Studio Color Pearls Marbleized Eyeshadow

So I was at my local Target dropping off a prescription and while waiting I decided to peruse the beauty aisle for something new that caught my eye or something I haven't tried before. And what do you know I found something. I stumbled upon Mabelline NY Eye Studio Color Pearls Marbleized Eyeshadow. These little gems were so eye catching I honestly wanted to grab all of them, no lie; but I showed some restraint and picked up colors in Mocha Mirage and Navy Narcissist I am totally going back for Carbon Frost though! These are so fun I will have a very colorful spring!

There are 7 different pure pigments which are swirled together for a gorgeous striking dimensional color.

There are two looks you can get from these pots of delight (I say three will elaborate later).

Soft Shimmer Look: You swirl two shades together and sweep across lids. Then to emphasize and make the eyes pop you add the marbleized shade to the center of your lid. Super cute and great for date night! What to Glam it up a bit?? Here is the Pearly Glam Look: Accentuate by sweeping the marbleized shade across the lid up to the brow bone. Then intensify by adding the solid shade to the outer creases, use a brush to line along upper lash line for added impact.

My third way: Wet you brush and take the solid color all the way up to your crease for a more glam girl/rocker chick and dab the marbleized side in the center of lid! It's way more intense.

This product is also VERY similar to M.A.C's Mineralized Eye Shadows.

LOVES IT!!!!

Satin Hands, thanks to the Pink Cadillac

Have you ever been to a Mary Kay Party and just didn't know what to order? Well one thing you must order is Mary Kay's Satin Hands Pampering set, my goodness this is super nice! So I have been suffering with dry cracked hands since Christmas, I did all the cooking and I washed and sanitized my hands every 5 seconds (ok maybe not that often but I washed them ALOT) hence they got all dried out. I went to visit one of my friends who used to sell Mary Kay and she had this delightful orange gift set and said to me "here you go beauty junkie gal blog about this" and I did and I loves it!!!! Honestly this will become a mainstay beauty staple of mines.

This three-step kit truly leaves you with amazingly soft, smooth hands and get this, I use it on my feet as well!

This is how to use it: Start with a dab of the Extra Emollient Night Cream, rub it in really good; and then add a couple of pumps of the Satin Smoothie Hand Scrub. I scrub all the way up to my forearm. The thickness of the night cream seems to give the scrub some extra "grab," doing away with all your dead skin, dry patches, and gnarly dried out cuticles (ew). And honestly, it just feels so good. I usually spend a good minute or more massaging the scrub/cream combo into my hands.

Then rinse, and marvel at your newly super-soft paws. Finish up with a dollop of the Hand Cream to seal in the smoothness and keep your hands soft and moisturized all day. It feels like a glove sealing in all the smoothness you just uncovered and protecting your hands.

Not only is this set a delicious everyday indulgence, it's an absolute must-have for occasions where your hands take center stage. Think first dates, job interviews, weddings, and those first days after you get engaged, when everyone is grabbing your hand to see your newly-acquired diamond, totally wished I had tried this for my engagement ring showing off days! Dry knuckles and ragged cuticles will most assuredly not compliment that gorgeous Tiffany setting, my loves. Try this you won't be sorry!

New Stila Jewel eye shadow palette

Another thing I couldn't resist was this new Stila jeweled palette of gorgeous shades from Stila! The Colors just called my name! They are so versatile I have tried them on alone together so super cute!! The black (Black Diamond) makes a fierce more glamorous smokey eye. I mixed it with the Champagne too and super cute. I also used the Amethyst, it looks great in the outer eye too!!! I am in love! Try wetting them for a more intense look.

The Jewel Eye Shadow formula creates a glistening wave of color that glimmers and sparkles across your lids like no other to give your eyes a brilliant, sequin-like reflection.

The eye shadow shades provide buildable color that evenly glides onto your lids. The perfect blend of pigment and pearl delivers a weightless feel on the eye, leaving lids glamorous and glistening.

Shades include:
Rose Quartz: light pink with silver sparkle
Amethyst: grey eggplant with champagne sparkle
Black Diamond: black with silver sparkle
Golden Topaz: champagne shimmer with silver and gold sparkle

Loves It!!!

Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm

I know I know yet another Lip Balm but I just couldn't resist and for the sake of research I was inclined to hand over the debit card a SWIPE!  I saw this new Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm with SPF 10 on my way out of Nordstroms (didn't make it too far out pass the beauty dept.). The lace packaging caught my eyes and My Creme de Rose Lip Balm and I have been together ever since!

This lip balm is part of Dior’s Lace collection (more on that collection later) and it is completely luscious and soothing on the lips. It has that nice thick texture that coats lips in moisture that I have come to expect from every lip balm I try. It leaves a nice shine behind and best of all, it smells like roses. I’d be a happy gal if every lip product was rose scented.

Have you checked out the new Dior Lace collection? Isn’t the packaging gorgeous? I’m a sucker for lace.

The new Art of Spring collection from Essie is hitting stores on February 1st. This collection of nail color was inspired by the colors and textures seen at Spring 2010 fashion shows and features shades of lilac, rose and cerise. It’s a return to soft pretty shades after the sparkle from the holiday season. Here’s what is in this collection:

A 4-4pc mini set will also be available and it includes Pop Art Pink, Lilacism, Tart Deco, Red Nouveau. Expert tip? For polish to last longer use a base and top coat then a few days later, apply Essie’s Shine-e to refresh polish to a top shine finish.

I already know what shades I’m dying to try (Van D'go and Red Nouveau of course). What about you? Let us know in the comments.

This Really Works Turbo Lip Balm

How many little pots, tubes, tin of lip balm do you have in your purse right now? I am batting 4  and I just added another one! But get this it's so multi-tasking that on a trip or long flight it's the only one I need!

This Works is an award-winning natural bath, body & skincare line from ex VOGUE Beauty Director, Kathy Phillips. This Works is serious about Aromatherapy. No compromises are made in choice or cost of essential oils. Turbo Balm is a nourishing blend of Tahitian Manoi, Cocoa Butter, Rose and Coconut that's hydrating, soothing and deeply moisturising. Ideal for dry heels, elbows, lips, cuticles or anywhere where skin feels dry and rough. Turbo balm contains no mineral oil or preservatives. Benefits: keeps skin soft and moisturized, ideal for any dry patches, contains no mineral oil or preservatives.

I fell in love with this range of products as soon as I saw their packaging, I went straight ahead to test their balm. As I said I always have a balm in my handbag, mainly because, I suffer from very dry skin and cracked lips, especially when I travel to dry or very cold places.

This Works balm, does work!  It kept my lips really smooth and, although I felt that the claim of a being a 'do it all' balm was a bit too much, I gave it a try it on my dry elbows with good success it also helped calm un-ruly fly-aways and split ends so I guess it does do it all!

It has a pleasant smell, the ideal size to carry with you, a light texture, and is 100% natural.  What else can you ask for? LOVES IT!!!!

Swoon Alert: The Cool Neutral Nail Polish of the Moment

I hate to tell snowy white-polish lovers this, but it’s no longer numero uno on the neutral nail-polish list. Nope, right now it’s all about nude nail polish—something Glamour Beauty Experts predicted would be big a few months ago and has finally begun showing up on the red carpet. Mariah Carey wore a sexy shade on her fingertips earlier this week, and I’ll admit, when I saw it, my first thought was not, I have to have that polish!—it was more like, What a rock! But the color is nude and super sexy!

Back to the nails. Mariah’s are slightly more brown than her skin, but no matter. The effect from far away is that they blend in with her hand. And this is a pretty great development because it makes your fingers look longer, thinner and smarter. OK, not smarter. But it does help with the other two because it elongates the line of her digits visually—and that’s a brainiac beauty move in my book. And this is a pretty great development because using a nude polish hue—like Essie’s Mambo shade—makes your fingers look longer, thinner and smarter. —Beth Shapouri

Eye Makeup Tricks From Alicia Keys’ Album-Cover Shoot

I found this on Glamour and thought I'd share. Have you seen how gorgeous Alicia Keys looks on the cover of her latest album, The Element of Freedom? I found out some intriguing tidbits about her beautiful eye makeup—and the shockingly affordable products used to achieve the look.

I got the inside scoop from makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff, who counts Alicia among her many A-list clients. “The look was soft, beautiful and ethereal,” she says about the album-cover shoot. “My favorite part was creating Alicia’s long and luscious lashes.” To get them extra-dramatic, she bought two sets of inexpensive Ardell faux lashes(the “demi” style), cut the strips into thirds, then glued these smaller pieces close to the lash line, staggering and layering them. Then she applied two coats of CoverGirl LashBlast Length mascara in black, to softly blend the lashes with Alicia’s real ones. As for the shadow: “I wanted Alicia’s eyes to have some color, but very natural,” Ashunta says. She wanted to keep the focus on the lashes and the eyes’ shape and chose a warm neutral shade, Mary Kay loose shimmer eyeshadow in Cashmere, brushing it over Alicia’s entire lid. (Unfortunately this shade’s no longer sold, but Ashunta says Laura Mercier Satinee Creme Eye Color in Rum Satin is a great, easy-to-apply substitute.) —Petra Guglielmetti

I definitely want to try this Laura Mercier Satinee Creme Eye Color! What do you thnk of the Alicia's look?

NEW Laura Mercier Polished Collection

I was in Nordstrom yesterday (the beauty section of course) and I needed some more of my Tinted Moisturizer from Laura Mercier, and guess what I saw-- the Laura Mercier Polished collection. This collection is a mixture of strong and soft finishes; matte on the eyes, shimmering and radiant on the face and semi-matte or pearlescent on the lips.

I tried on the new Radiant Creme Cheek Colour, such a fabulous highlighter. As soon as I saw this, I was digging through my bag to get my debit card out. It is so pretty.  But seriously ladies, this highlighter is just gorgeous… that’s all I have to say about it. Use it on the cheek bones or all over!

The collection also includes 3 new Matte Eye Colour Duos, a new Lip Shine and 3 new Satin Lip Colours. All the co-ordination is done for you and the collection is mistake-proof. The lipsticks are pretty and come in neutral shades that will flatter most skintones.  They are perfect for my nude lip obsession. They also feature a new long-wearing formula that goes from satin to matte within minutes and is almost “elastic” in the way it adapts to lips and stays put. I’m dying to put these to the test.

If you have all the semi-matte or neutral lip color you can handle, direct your attention to the Crystal Pink Lip Shine. This was the other item I picked up from the collection. It’s just a pot of gloss but the pink crystal shine is like the cherry on top of a delicious ice cream sundae.  It just adds a special touch to your lips. I am loving the golden pink shine this gives my lips. I like wearing it on top of almost all my lipsticks, just dabbing a bit in the center of my bottom lip for that impeccable shine.

Sally Hansen Shea Butter Rapid Finish Nail Color Dryer

My new current obsession is changing my nail color 2-3 times a week, I must admit the recession has a little something to do with this.  I have gotten pretty good at giving myself a manicure even on the infamous right hand. So in performing more of these tasks I have amped up my manicure product drawer.  One product I reach for every-time is this Shea Butter Rapid Finish Nail Color Dryer by Sally Hansen.  What I love about it, it's a cuticle moisturizing dryer! You spray it on and it's like oil, so it's almost a two in one product! (Note: Don't spray on nice clothing or glass.) I Love it, it contains Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Vitamin E to nourish and condition hands and cuticles, but best of all it dries nails! The website says 30 sec. however I have been using it for a while now, I would say 30 Seconds for your light colored nail polishes and 1-2min (to be on the safe side) for your darker 2 coat shades. After my nails are dry I then spray some more on and massage my cuticles a bit and rub the excess into my hands. Anything that will give my hands added moisture in these cold days is a huge plus in my book! LOVES IT!
