Kim Kardashian’s Sexy Eye-Makeup Trick

If you’re looking for a way to spice up your smoky eye makeup, steal this move that Kim Kardashian has perfected: On your bottom lid, try a darker color than the one on your top lid.

In this recent snap, she’s got a shimmery gold on her upper lids (with a smoky brown in her creases) and a darker steel gray along the bottom. The combination actually opens her eyes up as opposed to closing them in, as a circle of dark color would tend to do. Just something to try the next time you’re going for a smoky eye and want to change things up a bit.

Other color combos that would work? Navy on the bottom and silver on top, plum on the bottom and lavender on top, and brown on the bottom and shimmery beige on top. If you can’t decide which combo you’re into, Smashbox’s Proof Cream Eye Palette has 10 shadow shades for $32! And if the idea of trying to re-create Kardashian’s smoldering eye makeup seems stressful (or downright impossible),Too Faced Smoky Eye Palette comes with handy how-to instructions. —Beth Shapouri

Want to Smell Like Kim Kardashian: Kim Reveals New Fragrance

You may have seen Kim speaking about her fragrance on an episode of "Keeping up with the Kardashians" you know the one where Kim's sisters were upset that she and her mom cut them out of the launch of the new fragrance. Okay I know too much reality TV, but...I had to say it!!

Well...it's finally finished; however we will have to wait until next spring to buy it in stores (tear), but Kim talked about what we can expect from the perfume with company Lighthouse Beauty.

Kim says she’s always been wanting her own signature scent, since she was a little girl. She tells WWD “When I was little, my sister Kourtney and I tried to make our own perfume by picking flowers and putting them in the blender, because that’s how we thought fragrances were made. Our parents thought we were crazy — and it smelled totally gross!”

But Kim’s come a long way since her blender days! She says, “I wanted something rich and creamy and sexy, but still youthful. I met with Claude [Dir, a master perfumer at Givaudan] and had an in-depth meeting about what I liked and didn’t like, and he and his team came up with seven samples based on that.”

“I liked the base notes on one, the heart notes on another — we started mixing it up. I wanted to make sure I liked it in every single stage. It’s really cool to know that’s what is in this bottle is exactly how I want to smell.”

The fragrance has crisp top notes, a heart of jasmine, tuberose and gardenia, and a drydown of tonka bean, jacaranda wood and sandalwood. The initial collection comprises four eaux de parfum stockkeeping units: 1 oz. for $32, 1.7 oz. for $45, 3.4 oz. for $65 and a 0.33-oz. rollerball for $16. It will have a three-month exclusive with Sephora, and appear in department stores around Mother’s Day.

Kim was involved in the process all the way down to the bottle! She says, “I posted pictures of a hot-pink version and a pale-pink version and asked my fans to weigh in on which was better. The overwhelming favorite was the pale-pink cap — everyone said it looked more sophisticated. I really wanted to know what my fans preferred. They’ll be the ones buying it!”
