Cold Weather Staples: Nars Face Primer SPF 20

Winter is here. There’s just no getting around it anymore. Temperatures will begin to sink to single digits and the sidewalks will soon be covered with salt and mounds of brown ice.  I remember the Boston cold, it was the kind of cold that makes you feel like your face is going to fall off piece by piece. And I loathed having to take the "T", as you cross the steps back up to the surface you are hit with an ice cold brick like wind across your face, burrrrr. Days like this require a special beauty routine.

Here’s how I attempt to keep my skin protected and my face glowing.

Moisturize, Moisturize Moisturize! Days like these are just not the time to be skimping on the face moisturizer. You know how you apply layer upon layer of Lip Treatment/Balm, do the same with your face. Give your skin a healthy layer of lotion and really let it sink into your skin before doing your makeup. I also use a face primer after I apply my moisturizer because I like to give my skin a little extra protection. I take the words “wind” and “advisory” very seriously when I hear them used together.

I’ve really been liking NARS Primer with SPF for winter days. I first received this primer as a free gift from Sephora, you know the one you get when you reach 100 points. I tried it, loved it and traded it in for a larger one. It really provides an extra later of moisture and protection. Not to mention it helps to create a perfect canvas for natural-looking and long-lasting foundation application. Best part is the SPF, a combo of sunny sun and bright white snow is horrible and can cause severe sunburn. So yes ladies even in the winter don't skimp on the SPF!
